Towards an International Research Consortium on soil carbon sequestration

Towards an International Research Consortium on soil carbon sequestration

What could an International Research Consortium on soil carbon sequestration look like? In the CIRCASA project, we are working so in the future, all farmers have the right tools to participate in climate change mitigation and adaptation by taking care of their soil health.

At this state of the project, CIRCASA plans for major breakthroughs in soil carbon sequestration through the International Research Consortium (IRC) on soil carbon with a focus on four pillars:

PILLAR 1 – Frontier’s Research: unlocking the potential of soil carbon

PILLAR 2 – An International Soil Carbon Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) system

PILLAR 3 – Innovation for scaling up soil carbon sequestration.

PILLAR 4 – Enabling environment and knowledge co-creation

For more information read our last article about the IRC: https://www.circasa-project.eu/Home/News-and-events/CIRCASA-Towards-an-International-Research-Consortium

Please note that this preliminary vision of the IRC and its governance is currently under review and may have modifications during this 2020 year.
